+ Sister Pantychrist- Book of Revelations +

As we all know, Bank Holiday Easter Sunday is an important date cause that is when baby Jesus turned into a bunny rabbit and laid chocolate eggs.

Your favourite nun on the run, Sister Pantychrist, would like to as always celebrate this fabulous religious extravaganza by throwing an almighty party with some special nuns she picked up on the left, gay, side of the altar.

LERATO KHATHI aka LAKUTI
++++++++++++++++++++

Lerato Khathi aka Lakuti emerged out of the ruins of a post – apartheid South Africa. Growing up in an impoverished Soweto in Johannesburg .Lakuti took a deep interest in music from a very young age . Inspired by her mother’s impressive collection of Soul & Funk . Her grandfather also played a significant part in further nurturing her musical interest by schooling her in the art of Jazz. She inherited his jazz collection when he passed away and to this date has held onto every piece of vinyl from this collection .The biggest influence & inspiration was to come however with the first batch of Chicago house records, which made their way into the township .

Her first adventure onto a musical path came when she convinced an empty 100 capacity theatre in a then arty Yeoville – a suburb in Johannesburg , to let her use the space as a small club in the early 90’s , whilst embarking on a Law Degree . Planet hendon was born . She succesfully run the space for 2 years & in that 2 years the club saw dj sets from the cream of the crop of dj’s at the time in Johannesburg . Around the same period , she met Alan Abrahams aka Portable/Bodycode & collaborated with him on a few music projects . Some of those works were released on South african deep house label , dj syndicate .

Lakuti inevitably became frustrated with the geographic isolation of the country and relocated to London in 1997 ; after a 3 year stint in Toronto Canada , where she studied film and worked on various film related projects .

She immediately looked into dedicating herself full time into music & looked @ ways of achieving that goal . A break through came when she met The legendary Earl Gateshead , The powerhouse behind the Trojan Soundsytem , who took her into his wing . They promoted a monthly Friday for about 1 year at the hugely influential underground hub , Plastic People .

Lakuti alongside alan “Portable” Abrahams also established their successful underground parties , in London ; over 10 years ago & the events have seen performances from artists such as Levon Vincent, Tama Sumo, Soundstream, Juan Atkins , Move D , Rick Wade , Dj Jus Ed , Prosumer , Lawrence/Sten , Efdemin , Carsten Jost , Pantha Du Prince , Shed , Daniel Bell e.t.c.

ROKK
++++++++++++++++++++

Rokk was born out of the electroclash scene in London 2003 when he took up residency at The Cock club night at The Ghetto. Gleaning influence from the likes of Blackstrobe, Legowelt and the Ghostly International label he formulated the club’s synthetic vocal pop sound alongside celebrated scenesters, Princess Julia and Tasty Tim whilst dedicating his daytime to hours to being an A & R man at Parlophone Records. After the sad demise of The Ghetto in 2006, he took up residency at Richard Mortimer’s now legendary club night Boombox, which took and his records across the globe playing to crowds in Lyon, Paris, Athens, New York and beyond. The burgeoning reputation of Boombox amongst a new generation of East London clubbers called for the release of a Boombox compilation album (Kitsune Records) which featured a track by French electro duo Revolte who Rokk also managed, and a book chronicling the club’s unique aesthetic through images and writings from regular and well-known Boombox regulars.

Rokk has his name stamped on some of London’s coolest homo nightspots (Queer Nation, Horsemeat Disco, Trailer Trash) and has provided DJ support for Swedish pop prodigy Robyn, Pet Shop Boys, Artist Issac Julien, Elmgreen & Dragset, Gorillaz and Monarchy, amongst others and regularly guests both internationally and locally. A collaboration with Monarchy’s Andrew Friendly resulted in a fine re-work of Snap’s Rhythm Is A Dancer released on Gulp Recordings in 2008.

In his previous incarnation as A & R man for Parlophone Records, Rokk (aka Paul Bryan) commissioned remixes for Gorillaz, Supergrass, Jamelia, Lily Allen, Pet Shop Boys, Queen and Kylie as well as playing a large part in track selection and album content for major international artists.

A talented photographer and video producer in his own right, Rokk has worked with the likes of Bella Freud and Tilda Swinton, has produced a music promo for Digitalism and is currently finishing off a short film about the singer Robyn. In 2011 Rokk teamed up with London based poet Dean Atta and produced the single ‘Young, Black & Gay’ for Freshit Records and Directed the video.

Body Talk is Rokk’s club night and is the longest running night at Dalston Superstore which began in 2009 celebrating Original House sounds from the late 80s early 90s, and has seen guest spots from Trevor Jackson, Jacques Renault, Jon Pleased Wimmin, Mark Moore, Honey Dijon amongst others and is still going strong. Robyn even named her album after his club night, which then saw them tour together in the U.S. with Coldplay djing together at sell out events across the country. As well as Body Talk he’s currently working on new music set for release at the end of 2014, more photography and Directing a music video for Love Hotels’ Pleasure Cruiser.
