Tuesday . . NYC

What do you get when you combine 30 great Argentinean wineries, 30 selected Argentinean wines and showcase them in a format akin to speed dating? The answer is the first-ever Argentinean‘Buyers’ Forum’ to be held on Tuesday, October 1st at the 3 West Club, followed by a Walkabout Tasting.
Argentinean sales grew 23% in the last year, which amounted to 6.9 million cases and $ 271 million. Americans are increasingly asking for and drinking Malbec while others are diversifying their palates with new findings, from Torrontés to Bonarda, unique red blends to world class Pinot Noir. But where to begin and how to best maximize your time knowing that the wines you select are available in New York? That’s where the ‘Buyers’ Forum’ comes into play.
Moderated by Master Sommelier Evan Goldstein, 30 producers will have the opportunity to ‘speed date’ present their wines to you over the span of ninety minutes allowing for time to first taste on your own and then listen to their 60 second presentations. An opportunity to order on the spot will allow you to act immediately on wines which appeal to you, capturing the moment, after an efficient comparative three flights of ten bottlings. Focused, effective and easy- just the way you like it.
There will be a walkaround tasting of 30 wineries (more than 100 wines), providing the occasion to speak with the representatives in greater depth. The first session is open only to trade wine buyers and journalists while the walkaround tasting is open to all wine trade and media. All in all, a great afternoon and distinct way to navigate the Argentinean wine waters as you seek to build that South American component of your wine program and learn more about the wines from this part of the world.
