. . Wednesday . . NYC

    • 6:00pm until 8:00pm
  • Partly Cloudy 28°F

  • On December 18th, Bar Catalonia is proud to present Where I Am Now, a selection of new artworks by Vietnamese-American artist Bibi Tran, marking the artist's first solo exhibition in New York City.

Tran's paintings are explosively prismatic and exude her highly spiritual approach to abstract portraiture. The environments Tran creates, though vividly dramaticized and elusive, are wild and unabashed, yet, pure as if created through the looking glass of a child's eye. This previously unseen collection embodies the unique human capacity for fearless, unconditional appreciation of the inner self, the fellow man, and all other animate beings.

In support of Tran's Midtown premiere, Belgian Brewery Duvel will present this year's Duvel Collection Art Glasses, a limited edition collection of glassware featuring graphics by an international selection of artists.

Live music by dreamy jazz collective Aziza & the Cure begins at 7PM. A complimentary tasting will also accompany this exhibition hosted by Costello Wines concluding at 8PM.

Bar Catalonia is located at 206 West 41st Street, between 7th and 8th avenues, within Equity Point New York Hotel. For further inquiries, contact Venue Coordinator David Morris at 757-947-6731.
