Did You Know?
• Mel’s Drive-in restaurant had been closed prior to filming, and was reopened just for the shoot. It was demolished shortly after.
• Many of the takes used in the film were goofs or ad-libs, and the actors were often not aware that those takes would end up in the final cut.
• Several studios rejected the film fearing that the soundtrack George Lucas had envisioned, which contained over 40 popular songs, would be too expensive.
