Salomon Arts Gallery 83 Leonard Street New York, New York, 10013 November 14th: 6 to 9 pm followed by After Show Party...
Please join us for the Artagged kick-off premier of an interactive visual exhibition with a series of images creating a very strong visual Berlin atmosphere for Salomon Arts Gallery: A series of photographs, videos and silkscreens by the artists. Arttagged will premiere for the first time an interactive exhibition where those that attend the opening can speak live via Skype video conference calls to some of the Berlin artists being featured in this show.
Berlin artist and photographer Tina Winkhaus will show a selection of her large-format pictures from the series Unter Tage_Shot by God, that offer an entrance into a clandestine labyrinth-like landscape of mountain passages.
Robert Carrithers captured the unique special personalities/characters that inhabited New York City in the 1980s and now seen through those same eyes he captures the very special strong personalities and artists that now inhabit the city of Berlin in 2013 with the help and support of Berlin project manager Carmen Aigner from Berlin gallery Atelier CROSS ART. Robert has done a series of photo portraits in Berlin of specially selected people to capture who they are and what they are about. Robert will premiere a series of one of a kind silkscreens that combine strong images of Berlin along with New York and Berlin portraits. He will for the first time show his silkscreen portrait of Jean-Michel Basquiat and various Berlin creative people and images. Robert will also exhibit his Prague fairytale photo portraits and a strong collection of his photographs of 1980s' personalties focusing on the infamous Club 57. Robert worked with Berlin cinematographer Patrick Papow to create some introduction films to introduce the exhibition to the guests. Featuring samples (and photos of) of Berlin music such asTangowerk and Steve Morell and many more.
Robert's photographs reveal the personality and creativity of the artists he meets who he calls the living angels who offer themselves in the name of creativity.
