Please join us at Come Together: Surviving Sandy, Year 1 this Sunday at 1:00, for a panel discussion organized by INCAA-NA: The International Network for the Conservation of Contemporary Art – North America!
The loss or significant damage of one’s artwork by a catastrophic event such as Hurricane Sandy undoubtedly leaves many artists with new thoughts about their legacy and its conservation. "Hurricane Sandy and Damaged Artwork: The Artist’s Experience" will explore differing experiences surrounding artwork damaged by the Hurricane and consider how these experiences have affected the art world’s relationship to contemporary conservation.
Panelists will include:
Beth Nunan, of Albertson and Nunan Conservation
Magdalena Sawon, of Postmasters Gallery
Diana Cooper, participant artist
Rachel Beach, participant artist
Jim Hyde, participant artist
Linda Serrone Rolon, participant artist
Come on out to hear about how these artists dealt with the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy.
Then, hang around for the The Brooklyn Rail's panel "Beyond Backdrop: Fiction in the Wake of History" which begins at 3:00:
