_TIPPY TOES *LIVE* [Let's Play House] - Brooklyn
Tippy Toes has existed in different forms over the years, but currently consists of Abe Seiferth and Morgan Wiley. Abe and Morgan met at DFA’s Recording Studio where Abe was engineering and Morgan was recording keyboard tracks for LCD Soundsystem. They would end up having studios next door to each other in Brooklyn. Late night jams with Abe’s drum machines and Morgan's synths soon lead to parties and shows. Morgan is also a member of Midnight Magic (keyboards).

_M/A/T/E/S - Brooklyn
M/A/T/E/S is a newly formed DJ collective focused on curating sophisticated events in Brooklyn, New York. Quite aptly named, the group was founded by Michael Goldstein, Meredith Dooma, and Brian Parker, three "mates" dedicated to uniting old friends and new faces, and sharing a love for quality music...especially in unexpected, inviting spaces. Like all good friends, M/A/T/E/S take care of their mates, who in turn respect the experience, the space, and the energy of the night, but most of all, show up for a good time. M/A/T/E/S is currently hosting a monthly house and techno series at the Fine & Raw Chocolate Factory in Brooklyn.
Michael Goldstein is a house head originally from Sydney. Under the moniker Mickey G he spins everything from jackin 90's NY house to contemporary deepness and everything that grooves in between.
Meredith Dooma is an ATLien and artist currently residing in Brooklyn. After spending months as a full-time dreamer in Berlin, Germany, she finally found an outlet for her passion for music : spinning house, tech-house, and vocally driven tunes that make you want to move your body.
Brian Parker is a musician and producer from Virginia, currently living in Brooklyn. He has shifted his attention away from years of pop songwriting to hone in on a new project that incorporates a fascination with hypnotic minimal grooves and lush harmonic spectrums.

Gray
April 29th, 1979, Holman and Basquiat created the revolutionary sound/music/noise group, Gray. Gray’s music can be heard on film soundtracks, such as: Basquiat, The Radiant Child, Downtown 81, Blank City and Downtown Calling. Today, original Gray member Nick Taylor and Holman make up the band. Other members of Gray have included, Vincent Gallo, Justin Thyme (aka Wayne Clifford), and Shannon Dawson.
Since re-uniting in 2010, Gray has performed live at the New Museum (New York City, July, 2011), Corcoran Gallery of Art (Washington, D.C., March, 2012) and the Parrish Museum (Watermill, November, 2012).
Ralph McDaniels
McDaniels, who has family roots in Trinidad, invested his time and money into Video Music in 1983 when hip-hop was in commercial infancy. Exposure on McDaniels’ New York show greatly boosted the popularity — and music sales — of many now famous stars such asRun-D.M.C, Notorious BIG and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. Video Music Box helped propel the genre from the streets of New York to the countless big-city boulevards, and back streets, all over world. McDaniels also used the show to spread messages of unity, non-violence, anti-drug abuse, anti-crime, political activism and self-respect to his predominately young viewing audience.Today, the show — which still features videos, on-location footage from nightspots and patrons’ animated “shout-outs” to family and friends — airs on NYC-TV Wednesdays at 11:30 p.m.
Todd Sines Live
From the flat fields of Ohio to the concrete jungle of New York, Todd Sines’ environments; real and virtual, have served as inspiration for his unique, hybrid sound. His post punk, industrial, and hip-hop upbringings, filtered through an obsession with analogue and early digital technology, resulted in stripped down electronic funk; before minimal was mnml - it was just effective. Since his move to New York in 2003, he’s worked with a variety of other artists, including !!!, Death in Vegas, Liquid Liquid’s Sal Principato and Apollo Heights; he’s remixed Alexander Robotnick, Paul Randolph, Robert Owens, Moonstarr, Adam Marshall, Lanoiraude and more. With his new material with Natacha Labelle on Frankie, he pushes the boundaries of house music, and with the resurrection of his .xtrak alias on YORE, his return to jackin’ minimal funk reminds people of where it all started.

lyrics
(Boriss Miroshnikov)
it is the middle of night
and i just couldnt sleep
& with the moon so beautiful and bright
a penny 4 my thoughts i keep
i could just sit & stare @ the ceiling
but that would be so desperately banal
i've never cared less for that feeling
less then and even lesser now
go dance all throught the night/
& kill that darkness with the light/
dilute the dumb with all your might/
& rather love than fight. .
i thought i was so sad/
had almost played into that mood/
& now im feeling so much better/
how without the bad/
can u appreciate the good/
so now i write this four page letter
another thought runs through my head
though @ this point in vain
should i go dance instead
but that's the vanity of pain
go dance all throught the night/
& kill that darkness with the light/
dilute the dumb with all your might/
& rather love than fight. .
go dance all throught the night/
& kill that darkness with the light/
dilute the dumb with all your might/
& rather love than fight. .

"Round and round"
(Boriss Miroshnikov)
It funny how like seasons
We're dancing round and round
Wasting less time on reasons
Why down then on a cloud
I know You are just like the sea
Free-flowing and so strong
One minute you are here with me
A second you are gone
I know you are just like me baby
Like fallen leaves you have been burned
So let me tell you how i see
This thing of life that i have learned
When it is warm you make it clear
Shine brighter than the sun
The moment that it's cold out there
You swear i am the one
I know you are just like me baby
Like fallen leaves you have been burned
So let me tell you how i see
This thing of life that i have learned
Push yourself hard and aim for the sky
Know on yourself you can always rely
Hoping one day to know what it means
That if you fall you'll land on the trees
When some are lost you will be found
Cause they aim for the trees
And fall face flat on the ground
It funny how like seasons
We're dancing round and round
The moment the wing changes
You're nowhere to be found
I know You are just like the sea
Free-flowing and so strong
One minute you are here with me
A second you are gone
I know You are just like the sea
Free-flowing and so strong
One minute you are here with me
A second you are gone

"jUST like you "
(lyrics ALLA Pugacheva translation BORiSS Miroshnikov)
Da da da da da ..
Don't know who has been spreading all these lies
That i live without a worry or a care
That i am the luckies of all the guys
And always, in all things, i'm up there
Well
iM just like you
like you
like you
we're walking this earth searching for truth
and asking god
like you
like you
for some happiness too
Da da da da da ..
Da da da da da ..
don't believe that my life is pure paradise
and there's never ever trouble long the way
i work long hard days and nights then close my eyes
in spite of sandness and tears still i pray
iM just like you
like you
like you
we're walking this earth searching for truth
and asking god
like you
like you
for some happiness too
Da da da da da ..
for some happiness too
Da da da da da ..
for some happiness too
there are times when life hits so hard that it hurts
but to deal with that i've also found a way
if your heart is breaking so bad that it burns
you just say its all good anyway
iM just like you
like you
like you
we're walking this earth searching for truth
and asking god
like you
like you
for some happiness too
Da da da da da ..
and asking god
like you
like you
for some happiness too
Da da da da da ..
for some happiness too
Da da da da da ..
for some happiness too

New Abstraction News: Instant Identification
Lesny JN Felix Debuts 13 New Abstract Paintings on the Bowery
“What you see in my work is not intentional.
Some people say they see fish. I say, ‘I don’t see no damn fish. But hey, I cannot tell you that. I don’t want to take your fish away from you.’”
--Lesny JN Felix
New York City—Painter Lesny JN Felix is starting his own one-person school of art: the New Abstraction News. The Haitian-American's new exhibition Instant Identification will debut at the Lower East Side’s pop-up gallery at 215 Bowery on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, with a free opening party from 7 to 10 pm (open to the general public). Fans and collectors will have the opportunity to meet the artist and view his newest paintings.
Since his last major show in New York in 2012, Lesny JN Felix’s work has matured further into more complex abstractions. While his new paintings still retain their multi-hued exuberance, they have become more nuanced.
JN Felix's main interest are colors and shapes, and the multi-faceted ways of combining them on the blank space of the canvas. In 2013, his forms have morphed into totally independent entities, which become the "figures" of his abstract paintings. They flow
together through the imaginary space of the canvas, turning his compositions into eye-mesmerizing kaleidoscopic abstractions. JN Felix references Henri Matisse’s vibrant colors and plant-like forms, Arshile Gorky’s amoeba-like shapes, Andre Masson's "ecriture automatique", Piet Mondrian’s grids, Sam Francis' edges, Mark Rothko's intensity and - more recently- Salvador Dali's melting forms, while maintaining his personal palette and arrangement in his quest to become "factory-like" in his immense output of creative work.
Picking up where the Abstract Expressionists of the 1950s left off, Lesny JN Felix has founded - with a wink in his eye - his own one man movement New Abstraction News to push the concepts of nonfigurative art, spontaneity, and impulse to the next level.
While the Abstract Expressionist artist Franz Kline’s paintings may look off the cuff, he actually composed sketches on telephone-book pages before beginning his large-scale work. Any sketching JN Felix does happens directly on the canvas, where he’ll improvise until the painting reaches a quality he deems worth being able to hang “next to [a] Rothko.” Lesny JN Felix’s work is playful yet informed. He embraces art history while pushing toward a new vision of abstraction - his complex style - which has already gained him "Instant Identification".
About the artist: Lesny NJ Felix has emerged as one of the new talents of New York City's art scene. The Haitian-American artist started painting in 2005. Since then the artist has immersed himself into the vibrant downtown art scene.
