I'm excited to announce the premier of a new show I've been working on with Scott Wittman and Matt Ray. The Drift will premier next week at Joe's Pub and will run for SIX SHOWS ONLY. The Yaoi Party, hosted by Globus Film Series founder, Stephen Globus,
at Japan Society! The party features a live performance by the high-energy glam jazz pop band Ideal Orkestra.
Ideal Orkestra, founded by musician/composer Willard Morgan and featuring Uta Bekaia‘s avant-garde art wear, performs original compositions as well as jazz, blues, and pop hits. Ideal Orkestra’s recent tour played Maastricht, Paris, Brighton, Toronto, Miami and Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The Orkestra’s Sweat Shop Boogie, a song cycle and art installation, explores the domestic and global impact of humanity’s obsession with fashion.

In conjunction with Nobuhito Nishigawara’s solo exhibition, Mizu Shochu 美鶴乃舞 will host a guided tasting of the Japanese spirit and present cocktails inspired by the flavors of East Asia. Mizu co-founder Jesse Falowitz will lead us through the world of shochu, its production and various methods of drinking and enjoyment.
