Hotel Particulier is pleased to present a collaborative artwork between pop artists Christopher Lee Sauvé and Scooter Laforge.
Following the successful launch of the Mad Maus icon illustration series last December at Hotel Particulier, a marriage between infamous Mickey ears and iconic figures - Christopher Lee Sauve is back in time for Fashion Week with icons such as Mickey Boardman, Lynn yaeger, Diane Pernet (…) and has invited, for a second round of collaboration Scooter Laforge to share his two large canvas in the gallery.
Both artists will be screen printing and painting for 3 days in the gallery prior to the opening reception on February 4th. The 3 days will be documented, and open to the press and public by appointment only to give the artists the physical and emotional space to work.
We thank Prym Rum | Not Proper for offering the right spirit to our guests on the evening reception.

Christopher Lee Sauvé is a creative director, designer, and artist specializing in fashion - He has been turning fashion and celebrity icons into witty pop art for several years. His print SAVE ANNA became an overnight success after rumors of Anna Wintour leaving Vogue surfaced. His prints have become controversial collector's items after being embraced by the New York Times, Huffington Post, New York Magazine, Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Paper Magazine, and Perez Hilton. Sauvé says his focus is to fuse commercial art into the fashion world, much like Andy Warhol blended commercial art with the art world. His greatest inspirations are street art, punk shows, and of course pop culture. Nothing Looks As Good As Pop Feels.
Scooter Laforge’s work can be characterized as Pop Art partnered with abstract expressionism and Dutch classicism. His paintings and drawings are portraitures, landscapes, and objective subject matter, utilizing his special painting techniques. Golden books on acid, his paintings employ a 50’s illustrated story book technique, modernized by 70’s color pallets and are influenced heavily by gay pornography, cute fluffy animals, and sometimes iconic cartoons (i.e. SpongeBob Square pants, The Cookie Monster, and Popeye and Boris) which are reoccurring characters and themes within his work. His sculptures are a derivative of his successful clothing, t-shirt and underwear line, sold exclusively at Patricia Field, East Village, NYC and collected by the likes of Iggy Pop, Sandra Bernhard and Perez Hilton . His sculptures are self imagined 6-foot tall “T-Shirt Monsters,” that are hand tooled from the exact t-shirts that he makes for sale and are a permanent instillation at Barney’s New York Flagship store.
